Lemmy – Motorhead – Charcoal on Paper Portrait
Who is Lemmy Kilmister ? – The legendary Lemmy who formed Motorhead, and this is my tribute portrait.
Original size:12 x 17 inch.
Totally inspired to get this one sorted and pleased with the depth I got mixing charcoal with black pastel.
I’ve been a massive fan since the late seventies and have seen the 3 Amigos line up (Lemmy, Phil, Eddie) live on many occasions. I would have loved to have seen Lemmy with Hawkwind to see how Lemmy evolved, however one of my most memorable Motorhead gigs was their ‘Ace Up Your Sleeve’ tour in 1980 at Birmingham Odeon where I caught one of Phil’s drumsticks! Also their headlining of the Heavy Metal Holocaust at Port Vale FC in 1981 where Lemmy and Ozzy appeared on the same bill.
Sadly, Lemmy, Phil and Eddie are no longer with us but their music and legacy will last many lifetimes.
