John Lennon – Charcoal Portrait on Written Word

I created this charcoal portrait of John Lennon with charcoal onto newspaper, the front page of The Daily Telegraph from Wednesday 10 December 1980 reporting his tragic shooting.
I can vividly remember the impact of hearing the news on this day and I had kept a copy of the newspaper from that day until 2017 when put charcoal to paper.
