‘Constable’ Environmental Juxtaposition – Indian Ink and Charcoal on Paper

Using Indian ink with a touch of charcoal and with inspiration from the visit of Constable’s masterpiece ‘The Cornfield’ to Dudley I have created this juxtaposition with an environmental message.

“John Constable’s masterpiece, painted in 1826 is a beautiful, lush countryside scene that depicts a young shepherd boy drinking from a pool in the heat of summer.
I wanted to highlight in my artwork the sad nature of what is happening in our countryside today”.
